This part of our family tree traces the descendants of the Seigneur de Varrene through William de Warenne, 1st Earl of Surrey who accompanied Duke William of Normandy in 1066 to Isabel Plantagenet who married Magna Charta Surety Roger Bigod. Isabel's brother, William de Warren, 6th Earl of Surrey, was named in the Magna Charta as an Advisor to King John.

Generation One
Rudolf I Seigneur de Varrene
Born circa 998
Died before 1059
Rudolf married to Beatrix de Vascoeuil (1020 - 1059),
a daughter of Vicomte Tesselin of Rouen and a niece of Gunnor of Crêpon,
wife of Richard I "the Fearless", 3rd Duke of Normandy.
Rudolf and Beatrix had a son:
Generation Two
Rudolf II de Warenne
Rudolf married to Emma and they had a son:
Generation Three
William de Warenne, 1st Earl
of Surrey who accompanied Duke William in 1066 and was present at the Battle
of Hastings.
Died on June 24, 1088 at Pevensey, Sussex
William married before 1077 to Gundred
who died on May 27, 1085; and was a daughter or perhaps a sister of Gherbod the Fleming.

Gundred was said by Sir Bernard Burke and possibly others as well to
have been a daughter of William
the Conqueror and his wife Mathilda of Flanders, but this has been
disproved.

of Vermandois, daughter of Hugh
"the Great" de Crépi, Count of Vermandois and his wife Adelaide
de Vermandois.
William and Isabel had the following children:

Born: 1119
Died on January 19, 1148 at Laodicea in the Holy Land
while on crusade.
